The Blessing of Christian Fellowship

The Blessing of Christian Fellowship

A few days ago, Savannah and I were blessed with an opportunity of some good godly fellowship with a fellow missionary couple. It was such an encouragement to our hearts! This couple is on fire for the Lord, and it was a blessing to be able to sit down with them over a meal and hear about their field as well as share about ours. We also were able to talk about practical things like different discipleship programs and outreach…

Our God Reigns!

Our God Reigns!

As the nation-wide Covid-19 quarantine continues, my wife and I are repeatedly reminded of one recurring message in our lives: God is still in control. I am so thankful for what God declares in Psalm 9:9-10. “The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” God truly is a refuge to…

Pray For Uganda

Pray For Uganda

Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” America is facing a very unique hardship: the coronavirus. Due to the quarantine, we are getting to spend a lot more time at home with our families. This is an excellent opportunity to invest more time before the throne of God than we normally do. As Deuteronomy…

The Blessing of the Children

The Blessing of the Children

Recently, Savannah and I had the opportunity to go to a Christian school’s chapel service in Northern Virginia. It was 1st through 3rd grade chapel, but some of the older elementary grades came to be part of the service as well. We showed the deputation video, and then I preached to them about being an ambassador for Christ. Afterward, we got to answer questions about the mission field of Uganda for about half an hour. As the time seemed to…

The Encouragement of Faithfulness

The Encouragement of Faithfulness

Earlier this week, Savannah and I were in central Virginia at a meeting. As we got to sit down with the pastor after the service, it was so encouraging to hear about his church. The pastor explained that around 70% of the church members were involved in at least one ministry around the church. This number was a HUGE encouragement to me. The more and more American culture gets away from God, the less involved people tend to be. Sadly,…

Podcast Guest

I recently had the privilege of being on a podcast with Scott DeVane, the youth pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Herndon, Virginia. Pastor DeVane has a podcast ministry that reaches out to teenagers, but is directly aimed at the teenagers of Temple Baptist Church. The podcast is meant to be a devotional aide as the teenagers go through the Bible reading plan that the youth group has. Periodically, he will have a guest come on Saturdays and do an…

Survey Trip

Survey Trip

Savannah and I just returned from our survey trip this past Thursday. Alan and Elena Sutphen were gracious enough to host us in their home for the two weeks that we spent in Uganda. We got the chance to try many Ugandan foods. My favorite, by far, was called a chipati. It is a fried flat bread. Ugandans will put eggs and tomatoes on a chipati, roll it up, and call it a rolex. A rolex can have more than…
