Off to the Races!

Off to the Races!

At the beginning of the month, we had a couple meetings near our home in Northern Virginia. Yesterday, we made the 12 hour drive down to Georgia and we will be traveling for the next two months. The year is officially in full swing for us! Please pray for us as we will be part of many meetings and missions conferences. Pray that we will be able to be a blessing to each church that we visit as we seek…

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope this update finds you doing well. A LOT has happened since our last update. Things have been extremely busy for us, but that is an amazing problem to have on deputation! We safely arrived back in Virginia a few days ago, so thank you for praying for our safety. We scheduled a meeting locally here in Northern Virginia just before we travel to Georgia. Although our time here in Northern Virginia will be short, it has been nice…

What’s Been Going On Recently

What’s Been Going On Recently

After being in a missions conference in North Carolina, we drove cross-country to California. We praise the Lord for his safety as we drove many hours for many days. Upon arriving in California, we have had many meetings throughout all of California. It has been such a blessing to see the works that are going on for Christ in these various cities. One of the privileges that we have had on deputation is to spend time with pastors. During this…

An Unexpected Reminder

An Unexpected Reminder

Our LORD is such a loving and kind God! It is so neat when He gives us those unexpected blessings that we never even thought to pray for. Such was the case for me and Savannah the other day. As we were enjoying the blessing, we got to meet a painter named Rebecca. She was painting a beautiful picture of a botanical garden; one look at her canvas showed that she was very skilled and experienced in the art of…

The Ministry of Deputation

The Ministry of Deputation

Savannah and I fully believe that our ministry does not start once we get to the field; we believe that deputation is a ministry as well. We are extremely grateful that this past week the Lord gave us a huge opportunity to do ministry. We were able to spend a couple days during the week between visiting churches to minister to teenagers. They were teenagers from our sending church in Herndon, Virginia. I gave a challenge to the boys and…

On the Road Again!

On the Road Again!

Savannah and I praise the Lord that we are able to resume our meetings as we hit the road again! We just had a meeting in McDonough, Georgia yesterday, and we are scheduled for a meeting in Alexandria, Virginia next Sunday. Not all states have reopened, but we praise the Lord that the churches in the states that have opened are resuming their missionary visits. The Lord has so wonderfully provided for us during the quarantine time, and we thank…

Our God Reigns!

Our God Reigns!

As the nation-wide Covid-19 quarantine continues, my wife and I are repeatedly reminded of one recurring message in our lives: God is still in control. I am so thankful for what God declares in Psalm 9:9-10. “The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” God truly is a refuge to…

Podcast Guest

Podcast Guest

I recently had the privilege of being on a podcast with Scott DeVane, the youth pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Herndon, Virginia. Pastor DeVane has a podcast ministry that reaches out to teenagers, but is directly aimed at the teenagers of Temple Baptist Church. The podcast is meant to be a devotional aide as the teenagers go through the Bible reading plan that the youth group has. Periodically, he will have a guest come on Saturdays and do an…

Survey Trip

Survey Trip

Savannah and I just returned from our survey trip this past Thursday. Alan and Elena Sutphen were gracious enough to host us in their home for the two weeks that we spent in Uganda. We got the chance to try many Ugandan foods. My favorite, by far, was called a chipati. It is a fried flat bread. Ugandans will put eggs and tomatoes on a chipati, roll it up, and call it a rolex. A rolex can have more than…
