Praying in Public
Something interesting happened to us last night. It was neat to see what can happen when you just go about living your daily Christian life. Savannah and I went to a pizza place for dinner, and as we were waiting for the pizza to be made we found a table and went ahead and prayed for the food we were about to receive. A lady at the next table over leaned over and almost at a whisper said, “It’s really neat to see someone praying. We are Christians too! No one prays in public anymore.” Her husband arrived at the table and the four of us had a wonderful conversation about going to church and our missionary work. We both received our pizza and nothing else was said after that. As they were leaving, the woman came over and handed Savannah some money. She said, “We are really proud of the work that you are doing. Here is some money for dinner on us.” Savannah and I were shocked! We certainly don’t pray for our food to receive money, but it was an encouragement to see that that small act strengthened another believer.
